Our Mission
The Dartmouth Political Union (DPU) is the premier nonpartisan, student-led political organization at Dartmouth College. Our mission is to nurture open discourse and enrich the campus by:
Fostering Debate
The DPU hosts student debates that sharpen argumentation skills and encourage respectful dialogue. These debates provide a platform for students to engage with differing viewpoints in a constructive and structured manner and expose the Dartmouth community to a variety of viewpoints.
Inspiring Conversations
Through captivating speaker events, we bring diverse political perspectives to campus. Thought leaders from across the political spectrum share insights that challenge, inform, and broaden our understanding. Through our weekly meetings, we spur inclusive discussions on pressing political issues for the entire Dartmouth community. These gatherings create spaces where diverse opinions are valued, contributing to a culture of understanding and respect.
