Maya Spektorov is a ’28 from Kyiv, Ukraine, Tel Aviv, Israel, and Cape Cod, studying English with an International Studies and Linguistics minor. Outside of the DPU, Maya is involved with Linguistics Department research, works as a drill instructor for Russian learners, and writes for the Dartmouth. Maya has interned with TV Rain, an independent Russian-speaking broadcasting company based in Amsterdam. There, she worked to create documentaries about the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as well as connecting and welcoming international guests and experts to live broadcasts. She has also worked for Bank Zywnosci in Warsaw, a food bank for Ukrainian refugees in Poland, where she organized and later worked to improve weekly food distribution events. These experiences have driven her to a focus on humanitarian work and law.
